Kauno Jėzuitų Gimnazija

While creating a Christian community on the basis of Jesuit Education, Kaunas Jesuit High School aims to develop a creative, responsible and well educated person, a citizen of a democratic country, who devotes his/her talents to the service of God as well as the society and strives for social justice.

The Preparatory International Baccalaureate (Pre-IB) Diploma Programme is designed to prepare students for successful studies in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IB DP). This program aims at the highest academic achievement. It includes intensive development of communication, personal project management and community service skills.

The central focus of the Pre-IB years at KJHS is the development of skills that will be carried through the Diploma Programme and beyond it. Such skills as an ability to analyse, interpret data,  communicate, apply creative problem solving methods, research, think critically and manage time are developed through all of the courses. Assessment tasks resemble the types of the assessment that students will face later in their learning process, ranging  from  essay  writing,  lab  reports, source  analysis,  mathematical research projects and more.

A group of 10-15 students, comprising the most academically advanced grade I applicants, will be accepted into the Pre-IB class. Learning in a small class environment provides more opportunities for the student’s academic and personal development. It allows the teacher to pay more attention to the students’ individual needs and unleash his/her unique talents.

Students wishing to enroll in the Pre-IB Diploma Programme at Kaunas Jesuit High School (KJHS) must complete all of the standard KJHS admissions procedures.
